I love improv. It is a miraculous collaboration between performers and audience to create something from anything that exists for an instant, and, though it can never be recreated with exactitude, it has forever rearranged the molecules of those who shared in the moment.
I’ve been improvising for many years. I started in College, then took some classes at The Second City. My first paying job as a performer out of school was in Sci-Prov at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, CA. Since then I have called CSZ Philadelphia my creative home since 1992. I perform and teach there, I’ve been Artistic Director and Education Director. I perform regularly with Thomas Fowler in Dangerous Fools and Steve Roney in ‘Til Death Do Us Part, And with the wonderful women of Wisdom Teeth.
If you’re interested in hiring or seeing any of the above groups, let me know

I have worked as an actor at a variety of Theatre Companies in and around Philadelphia. I am a member of Actor’s Equity.

I have a sneaking suspicion I have been interested in directing since I was kid re-staging Star Wars scenes and Charlie’s Angels’ episodes in my backyard. Something about finding the best way to tell a story has always driven my work as a performer, writer, improviser, and a director. I have directed across a range of mediums on both the professional and academic level from musicals to straight plays, to variety shows to improvisation and even corporate events. Let’s tell a story together.

After 25 years performing and teaching improv, and 40 plus years of devotion to Star Wars, I have finally discovered a way to combine the two. Do Or Do Not breaks down the “how-to,” and seeks out the “why” and “what else” to give you the tools to unlock your true Jedi improv powers. This book will not only teach you how to improvise, but how to become your own improviser. Buckle in because these are the droids you’re looking for, I have a good feeling about this, and it’s time to punch it Chewie!
